Lacrosse: Hinsdale Storm wins lacrosse title

CREST HILL — The Hinsdale Storm defeated the Northbrook/Glenview Natural Disaster, 12-9, to win the 2012 Illinois Girls Lacrosse Association 7/8 A championship on June 10 at Hassert Park in Crest Hill. To advance to the championship game, the Storm went undefeated in pool play by upending Lake Forest, 8-1, Glen Ellyn, 10-1, and Northbrook/Glenview 1, 10-2. This is the third consecutive IGLA 7/8 A championship for Hinsdale. The 7/8 A division includes the top middle school teams in Chicagoland.

On May 20, the Hinsdale Storm won the women’s high school division of the Washington Invitational (near Peoria) by defeating Morton, 15-4, in the tournament championship. To advance to the championship game the Storm beat the Mishawaka (Indiana) Falcons, Duneland (Indiana) and Bloomfield-Normal Warriors. During the 2012 spring season the Storm compiled a 14-1 record.
