Letter: Thanks to participants

On Mother’s Day, I was one of nearly 1,000 women who took to the streets of Hinsdale to participate in Run Like A Mother, a women’s-only 5K run benefitting Bridge Communities. I ran with my daughter, Hillary, and it was a truly memorable and enjoyable experience.
On behalf of Bridge Communities, I’d like to extend a huge “Thank you!” to all of Hinsdale for welcoming Bridge and Run Like A Mother so warmly into your community. Everyone I encountered raved about the lovely course, the charming downtown, and the kind people in Hinsdale.
I also want to thank the Run Like A Mother organization for choosing to support Bridge Communities. We are a perfect match as at Bridge Communities, 98 percent of the families in our Transitional Housing Program are single moms with kids. We love our moms and do everything in our power to help them move from homelessness to self-sufficiency, financial stability and permanent housing. For a cutting-edge organization like Run Like A Mother to embrace our mission to connect homeless families with brighter futures means the world to us. We are grateful for the partnership and hope it extends well into the future.
As for me, with my first 5K behind me, I’m already planning next year’s Mother’s Day around the Run Like A Mother 5K race. It was a fantastic experience, thanks to the race organizers, the runners and the wonderful people and businesses of Hinsdale.
