District 181 sets kindergarten registration

HINSDALE — District 181 are invited to register their child for kindergarten in the 2013-14 school year from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on March 18 and 19.

Children must be registered for enrollment in their attendance area school. District 181 kindergarten classes are located in Madison, Monroe, Oak and The Lane schools in Hinsdale, Elm School in Burr Ridge, and Prospect and Walker schools in Clarendon Hills.

Per state law, children who are five years old on or before Sept. 1, are eligible to attend kindergarten during the 2013-14 school year.

Parents are required to bring several documents to registration:

• A certified copy (with the seal of county clerk) of the child’s birth certificate. If that is not available, other governmental documentation (passport, naturalization papers, etc.) of the child’s identity will be acceptable only if accompanied by an affidavit explaining the inability to produce a copy of the birth certificate.

• One of the following items: the most recent real estate tax bill for the residence showing the parent as the taxpayer; signed lease for the residence; notarized letter from the owner of the residence stating that the parent resides at that residence and the duration of residency.

• Two of the following items with current address: current gas, electric or water bill; Public Aid card; voter registration card; current home/apartment insurance certificate; automobile registration in the Illinois; land line telephone bill or recent cable TV bill; current receipt for city vehicle sticker.

* Household Information including address and phone numbers, -parent contact information, student demographic and health/medication informationm emergency contact information (with phone numbers).
