HINSDALE

Grace Episcopal Church jump started its new Sunday school year with an outdoor service at KLM Park.

The church’s new rector, Father Chris Pierce, decided to start the school year in the beautiful outdoor setting, to allow for outdoor games and a picnic after the service. Music director Mark Reynertson brought keyboard, flute, and vocalists to enhance the service.

Chef Al Kitchel cooked a picnic lunch for everyone after the service. This outdoor service was the first time for parishioners to meet Kitchel, who has just become part of the church staff. Grace hired this new chef to cook a gourmet breakfast.~.
