USA Swimming master coach honors Hinsdale Swim Club

Hinsdale Swim Club welcomed Ed Spencer, USA Swimming Speedo Master Coach, on deck June 11-14. HSC is one of 22 clubs to receive this honor this year — only three other Chicago area clubs have been previously recognized. HSC became eligible for this honor because Danny Thompson is one of the top 150 swimmers in nation. The strength, depth and promise of HSC’s age group program solidified its standing as a program USA Swimming is eager to further invest.

Spencer worked with HSC’s coaches and kids and challenged them to raise their levels of expectations. He shared team building ideas and brought a wealth of support and suggestions gained through his experiences. Spencer has almost 40 years coaching experience. His experience includes head coaching positions at Industry Hills (1983-1991), Reno Aquatic Club (1991-1998) and Dynamo Swim Club (1998-2004). As a Speedo master coach, Spencer has visited more than 135 programs since 2005.
