U.S. Rep. Judy Biggert, R-13th of Hinsdale, hosted a special reception June 12 at her home to honor military academy students from the congressional district, many of whom she nominated for enrollment at the Air Force, Military, Merchant Marines and Naval Academies. The reception is an annual event Biggert hosts to honor young people who have committed to serve our nation.

“The students attending our nation’s prestigious military academies possess the highest level of academic achievement, ethics and dedication,” said Biggert. “I nominate a handful of our community’s best and brightest each year, and each year I am impressed by these tough young men and women who feel the call to serve and protect our nation as military leaders. This reception is an opportunity to say thank you, and to bring together students and family members to share stories, and for the older students to mentor the new enrollees.”
