Sunday evening burglary in Hinsdale

HINSDALE — A burglar stole a jewelry box and cash from a home on the 500 block of North Garfield Street Sunday evening.

The Hinsdale police are investigating the crime that occurred between 5:30 p.m. and 7:43 p.m. Feb. 24, while no one was at home. The burglar forced open a rear door to get inside and ransacked several rooms.

A jewelry box containing several pieces of jewelry was taken from a bedroom. An unspecified amount of money also was reported stolen.

The residents are expected to provide a more complete list of items that were taken.
