Hinsdale crime briefs for Feb. 19

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Hinsdale Police Department.

HIT AND RUN

A man driving a rusted, tan car reportedly struck a parked vehicle on the first block of West First Street at about 4:10 p.m. Feb. 14 and drove away without leaving his contact information. A witness, who reportedly saw the offending driver out of his car, said he had short, brown hair, was about 5-feet, 5-inches tall, and looked to be in his 20s.

THEFT

A resident of the 600 block of West Hinsdale Avenue reported at 3 p.m. Feb. 12 that someone took his cellular phone, valued at $100, from his home. The resident identified a suspect who had permission to be in the home. The police are investigating the case.

The office manager of a medical practice on the 900 block of North Elm Street reported between 10:45 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Feb. 13, someone stole an envelope containing $20, a personal check and three charge receipts. The envelope was in a desk drawer in the office.

A woman reported someone had made unauthorized withdrawals from her checking account with Harris Bank, between July 15, 2010 and Feb. 12, 2013. The total amount of money missing was not reported as of Feb. 19.~.
