Hinsdale crime briefs for Jan. 22, 2013

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Hinsdale Police Department.

HIT AND Run

The police are looking for the driver of a white Hummer H2 which reportedly struck a white 2003 BMW at Ogden Avenue and Oak Street at about 4 p.m. Jan. 18. The driver of the Hummer, who a witness said has short dark hair and looks to be in his 30s, drove away without leaving his contact information.

THEFT

A resident reported someone stole a set of Gorham sterling silverware, valued at $14,400, from her house on the 800 block of South Washington last year. The set contained five-piece place settings for 12 guests, plus a serving fork and spoon. The theft was reported Jan. 10.

Someone took a radar detector, which cost $499, and sunglasses, valued at $200, from an unlocked vehicle in an alley on the 400 block of South Thurlow Street between 9:30 p.m. Jan. 16 and 7:30 a.m. Jan. 17.

Someone took five pieces of copper pipe, each 10-feet long, from inside the warehouse of Soltwisch Plumbing, at 422 Chestnut St., between noon Jan. 14 and 10 a.m. Jan. 18.

VANDALISM

Unknown suspects yelled racial slurs at a resident of the 200 block of Fuller Road and threw eggs at his house. The incident was reported at about 4:10 p.m. Jan. 18.~.
