One burglary, one attempted break-in in Hinsdale

HINSDALE — Between Dec. 27 and Jan. 4, a burglar entered a home on the 100 block of West Second Street and ransacked the master bedroom, police officials said. It appeared the burglar entered other rooms in the house, too. The homeowner has not yet prepared a list of what was taken.

The resident found a window open when he returned home from vacation, which is possibly where the intruder entered.

Someone also tried to get in a house on the 800 block of South Bruner Street. The police responded to an activated burglar alarm at 7:34 p.m. Jan. 4 and saw pry marks on the back door. Police officers said it did not look as though anyone had gotten inside, however.
