HINSDALE — Seven vehicles in the neighborhood northeast of Route 83 and Chicago Avenue were searched or burglarized the night of Dec. 28.

Someone stole a $20 bill and an iPod, valued at $100, from an unlocked vehicle on the 100 block of North Stough Street between 10 p.m. Dec. 28 and 8:45 a.m. Dec. 29.

A backpack and laptop computer were reported missing from an unlocked vehicle on the 200 block of North Quincy Street, taken between 1 and 3:35 a.m. Dec. 29.

Someone also apparently searched four vehicles left unlocked in a driveway on the 100 block of North Quincy between 3:30 a.m. and 9:20 a.m. Dec. 29, but the owners did not notice anything missing.

The center console of a vehicle on the first block of North Quincy was searched, too, between 1 a.m. and 3:35 a.m., but nothing has been reported stolen from it. A resident called the police at 3:36 a.m. Dec. 29 when she saw a man in her driveway.
