Burglary reported to Maple Street home in Hinsdale

HINSDALE — Police report a home on the 300 block of West Maple Street was broken into on Saturday.

The incident occurred between 5 and 8:30 p.m. Saturday. Forced entry was made to the residence which was ransacked.

Various items of jewelry and U.S. currency were taken from the home.

Hinsdale police remind resident to keep alarms on and to report suspicious activity.

Anyone with any home surveillance systems in the area of this burglary that may aid the investigators should contact the investigations division at (630) 789-7070.

This is the 12th burglary of this nature so far this year (there were 14 in 2011, 15 in 2010, 24 in 2009, and 33 in 2008), police said.
