BNSF Metra trains delayed after pedestrian struck

Metra trains on the Burlington Northern Santa Fe line were running about 30 minutes behind schedule late Thursday afternoon after a pedestrian was struck by a train headed from Chicago to Aurora.
Outbound BNSF Train No. 1245 was operating 25 to 30 minutes behind schedule, Metra reported on its website. The train was to arrive at 4:52 p.m. at the Fairview station in Downers Grove.
All trains on the BNSF line were affected after an outbound train struck a pedestrian about 1:30 p.m. near the Illinois 59 station near the Aurora/Naperville border.
