Before the HInsdale Theater, at 29 E. First St., became the Mexican restaurant Cine, it was a women's clothing store. But many of the theater's architectural elements remain, such as this balcony which protrudes into a work space at the back of the restaurant.

The new Cine Mexican restaurant is designed by Katherine Ingrassia, the same person who designed Nabuki, another of Peter Burdi's restaurants in Hinsdale. The look was inspired by the vivid colors and contrasting textures favored by Mexican architect Luis Barragan.
