HINSDALE
The Hinsdale Village Caucus is looking past November, preparing to nominate people for local offices up in the April 2013 elections.
The caucus has formed nominating committees to select candidates for four openings on the Hinsdale Library Board, three on the Hinsdale Village Board, a village president and for officers of the caucus.
Another committee will nominate three people for Hinsdale-Clarendon Hills Elementary District 181 Board.
Each committee is accepting nominations. Anyone interested in being considered for an office or who would like to nominate someone should email hinsdalecaucus@gmail.com. Or people may directly contact members of the individual committees.
Serving on the Caucus Officer Nominating Committee are Nancy Chapa, Adam Petravicius, Jim Hennessy, David Friedman and Ron Sorini.
Serving on the Hinsdale Library Nominating Committee are Louise Hillegass, Lex Buddig, Mark Seikel, Bill Lewis, Chris Davis, Chris Revord, Bob Crane, John Callahan, Sara Byron and Andy McBride.
The Hinsdale Village Board Nominating Committee is comprised of Jerry Mejdrich, Laura Johnson, Lisa Laidlaw, Eric Johnson, Gretchen Paarlberg, Nadine Gilbert, Harry Erickson, Lisa Prisby, Julia Liesse and Susan Draddy.
The Nominating Committee for District 181 has 14 members: Joe Derezinski, Tom Brent, Russ Knister, Kathleen Schnieders, Kim Beard, Bob Brindley, Scott Morris, Hala Alhindi, Tom Downey, Gloria Popovich, Ann Mueller, Paul O’Flaherty, Matt Halpin and Rik Geiersbaach.
While the Hinsdale Caucus has traditionally been the way offices are filled, it does not prevent potential candidates from running independent of the caucus. Nominating petition forms will be available later this month at the library, Village Hall and District 181 Administration Center, 6010 S. Elm St., Burr Ridge, for people to pick up.
The filing deadline is Dec. 24. The election will be held April 9.
