Late start at library
The Hinsdale Public Library will not open until noon on June 11 due to a planned power outage. The library normally opens at 9 a.m. Monday through Saturday.
Blood donors could win baseball tickets
The Adventist Lab Partners Blood Center will hold a blood drive June 12 through 14 with the chance for donors to win two tickets to the Chicago White Sox and Chicago Cubs Crosstown Classic on June 20.
The blood drive will be held from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. June 12 to June 14 at the blood center, at 121 N. Elm St. Donors may make an appointment in advance, but walk-ins also are welcome. To make an appointment, call JoEllyn at (630) 856-7837, or send an e-mail to Dlayne.Lunt@ahss.org.
Blood donated to the Adventist Lab Partners Blood Center is used in Hinsdale.
Donors’ names will be entered in a drawing for two tickets to the Cubs-White Sox game at 7:10 p.m. June 20 in Cellular Field. Two tickets to a Kane County Cougars game will be raffled off, too.
Donors must be at least 17 years old, or 16 with parental consent, and bring a photo ID. It must be at least 56 days since a person’s previous donation. People who have gotten acupuncture, tattoos, or piercings during the past year are not eligible to donate.
