After more than 10 years as director of communications for Hinsdale-Clarendon Hills Elementary District 181, Rita DuChateau is retiring June 30.

A Hinsdale resident, DuChateau previously worked from 1990 to 2002 as a reporter at The Doings and as an English, journalism and mass media teacher at Downers Grove North High School from 1973-79. She also has been an active member of the Rotary Club of Hinsdale and was involved in several public relations groups and associations.

Several staff members from District 181, along with other friends and colleagues, held a retirement party for DuChateau May 30 at Lake Hinsdale Village in Willowbrook.

Bridget McGuiggan has been hired to replace DuChateau, effective July 1. McGuiggan has been working as community relations coordinator in Orland Park elementary District 135.
