Hinsdale Center for the Arts hosted a Wine Dinner Delizioso at Il Poggiolo Ristorante in Hinsdale on Jan. 22. The first-time event was a benefit for HCA’s new educational and community outreach initiatives within the surrounding communities.
More than 65 guests turned up to sample wine and food pairings as well as enjoy an assortment of entertainment provided by HCA students.
Chef Saul Maya of Il Poggiolo prepared the menu, and wines were presented by Terlato Wine International.
The Underground Jazz Quartet from Downers Grove South High School performed during the cocktail hour while HCA student Archilles Bezanis performed Mattinata by Leoncavallo during the dinner hour. Following the meal, guests enjoyed a video of animations from Ed Newmann’s animation class.
“We wanted to showcase some of our students and give them a chance to perform their work,” explained Suzanne Penn, marketing director and visual arts coordinator of HCA. “We tried to weave in the entertainment throughout the night.”
The evening also included a wine auction, with guests bidding on bottles of fine wine.
