Preschoolers will get a workout during a Little Miss Ann concert from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 21, at the Thomas Ford Memorial Library, 800 Chestnut St., Western Springs.
“I’ll be doing lots of interactive songs where the kids are doing finger play, dancing and clapping,” Little Miss Ann said. “Some will be coming up and singing, and I’ll have some kids play instruments.”
The singer/songwriter/guitarist, who has recorded three CDs for children, described her musical style as “folk-rock-popsy. I try to have a lot of positive messages,” she said. Her topics include nature, love and songs that stress, “being strong, being an individual.”
The performer, who was a special education teacher for seven years, said, “It was a happy fluke that I ended up doing what I do.”
Although Little Miss Ann’s music is geared to the preschool set, “a lot of younger and older kids always seem to enjoy it,” she said.
