You and your kids can have 4½ hours of fun at the Park District of La Grange’s free Community Family Fest from 5:30 to 10 p.m. Friday, July 20, at Gordon Park, Ogden and Tilden.
“It’s a unique event because we have free children’s activities — pony rides, a petting zoo, inflatable jumpies, carnival games with prizes, a tattoo station and face painting, and the White Sox have a pitching and hitting game,” said Laura Gallagher, superintendent of recreation. “We also have musical entertainment.”
From 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Lyons Township High School’s WLTL-FM (88.1) will provide a DJ. The band Who Knew will play at 7:45 p.m.
“They’re a cover band that does mainly ’60s to ’80s rock,” Gallagher said.
Children won’t be the only ones having fun. Gallagher reported, “We have an enlarged beer garden for the adults this year.”
There also will be food vendors and a variety of sponsor booths where there will be giveaways and activities.
