The Hinsdale Auxiliary of Children’s Home + Aid hosted an open house Sherry Party on Dec. 6 at The Green Goddess boutique in Hinsdale.

Guests were asked to bring a new toy and they willingly obliged: The 100 guests donated 175 gifts for children ages newborn to 5.

The Green Goddess contributed $2,000, which came from a percentage of the store’s revenue from the party’s sales matched by funds from Green Goddess’ charitable fund. An additional $920 was raised from raffle gifts donated by The Green Goddess.

Altogether the evening raised close to $3,000 to benefit children and families in Illinois supported by Children’s Home + Aid.

Gift cards for $50 each were presented to the children living at The Rice Center, a residential treatment center operated by Children’s Home + Aid on behalf of the Hinsdale Auxiliary.

“The Green Goddess and owner Elyce Rembos are so supportive of Children’s Home + Aid,” said Alyssa Guido, publicity chair. “Her beautiful store is the perfect setting for our holiday event; she sets a high standard for stewardship and generosity in downtown Hinsdale.”~.
