Cullerton scores win over incumbent Pankau in 23rd State Senate

OAKBROOK TERRACE — Democratic challenger Thomas Cullerton of Villa Park defeated incumbent Republican Carole Pankau Nov. 6 in the 23rd District State Senate.

With all 153 precincts reporting, Cullerton totalled 40,423 votes; Pankau finished with 38,546.

Pankau scored a victory in five Cook County precincts, 1,538 to 1,398.

Cullerton won in DuPage County, 39,025 to 37,008.

The 23rd District includes five precincts in Oakbrook Terrace along with portions of Addison, Bartlett, Bensenville, Bloomingdale, Carol Stream, Glendale Heights, Glen Ellyn, Itasca, Roselle, Wood Dale, and Villa Park.~.
