Event: 54th Golf
Benefiting: Robert Crown Center for Health
Attending: 60 golfers, 102 for dinner
The Robert Crown Center for Health Education hit a hole in one during its 54th annual Golf Invitational on June 25 at the Hinsdale Golf Club. The event included a luncheon, 18 holes of golf, golf contests, cocktails, dinner and a live auction.
More than 60 golfers turned out on a beautiful summer day to have some fun and support the center. The first hole included a contest, Beat Ryan’s Shot, in which 13-year-old Ryan Thayer of Hinsdale putted or chipped a shot and golfers tried to beat his shot. On hole 14, golfers competed in a marshmallow drive to see who could drive giant marshmallows the farthest.
Cocktails and dinner followed the golf outing with state Sen. Kirk Dillard, 24th District, of Hinsdale offering welcoming remarks. A live auction included vacations, tickets to sporting events and wine collections.
This year’s low net winner was Brent Coan and the low gross winner was Mike Naimo. Tournament winners receive gift certificates and have their names engraved on silver cups, which are on display at the center.
The event raised $86,000 for RCC, the largest independent provider of health education for school-age youth in the Chicago region.
